Custom domains & HTTPS
Every site works at its default address. Add your own domain and Chapong issues the certificate for you.
Add a domain
- In the dashboard, open your site → Domains and add your domain (for example
www.example.com). - At your DNS provider, create the record the dashboard shows: a CNAME pointing to your site’s target.
- Once DNS resolves, the HTTPS certificate is issued automatically.
Apex and www
Add both the apex (example.com) and www and choose which is primary; the other redirects to it automatically. For an apex domain, use your DNS provider’s ALIAS / ANAME / CNAME-flattening support, or the record shown in the dashboard.
Example DNS records
| Name | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|
www | CNAME | the target shown in the dashboard |
@ (apex) | ALIAS / ANAME, or the record shown | the target shown in the dashboard |
Troubleshooting
- Certificate pending: DNS changes can take a while to spread. The certificate is issued once the record resolves to your site.
- Wrong site shows: check there isn’t an older A or AAAA record on the same name alongside your CNAME.
- Previews keep their own preview URLs; custom domains point at production.
